DOT data shows 118,200 passengers travelled between Chicago and the Philippines from Jun 2024-Jun 2025. The popular connecting points for the route are Taipei, Seoul, and Hong Kong. The flight will operate under the existing US-Philippines Air Service Agreement, which allows Philippine-based airlines to operate flights to Honolulu, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Guam, Saipan, and four additional US destinations selected by the Philippine government. Chicago will be Philippine Airlines’ 6th US destination and 7th in North America if it receives approval. Philippine Airlines operates 44 weekly flights between Manila and North America, including to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York JFK, Honolulu, Vancouver, and Toronto. Philippine Airlines offers 31,640 seats for direct flights between North America and the Philippines, accounting for 68.5% of total capacity.
